Under 18s

Our younger members – tomorrow's future world champions – are called ‘juniors', because that is how under-18s are referred to at European and World Championships. But in FAIR we don't treat people differently depending on their age; in fact our ‘juniors' have full voting rights, with no having to wait until you turn 18.

Our junior team for the2006 world championships in Baikonur was (from the left) Trevor Seabrook, Catherine Jacomb and Benedykt Klejnow. Trevor will have graduated to the senior team for the 2008 world championships in Spain, so you could be in the picture after that event.

When it comes to competitions, under 18s and seniors compete separately because the FAI says they must. But after you've been to one of our events, you'll soon learn that the under 18s can compete with – and often beat – the seniors.

Some of our Under 18s, plus GB team manager Jo Halman, pictured with a few of the members of Team USA at the 2004 World Championships.
